This timeless system, rooted in the Upanishads and Vedic culture, creates a family-like environment that supports both personal and spiritual development.

At Gurukul Yogashala, we honor this sacred tradition while offering a modern, comprehensive yoga education. Through a nurturing community, authentic teachings, and a holistic approach, students become part of the Gurukul family—guided, supported, and inspired throughout their yoga journey.

The sessions will help you to relax, reconnect, and re-focus on yourself. The practices are suitable for beginner students as well.

Yogic Cleansing

Yogic Cleansing or Shatkarma kriyas are the cleansing techniques that help cleanse the nasal passage, which will help us breathe better and also ready the mind and body for the pranayama practices.

Pranayama Session

The Pranayama sessions will help you understand how to breathe correctly, and you will be able to learn a lot of breathing techniques that will help you not only in releasing any kind of stress during the retreat but you will be able to keep doing the same after the completion of the retreat as well. These sessions will help you find the right setting to shut the outer world and come into peace with your inner world.

Meditation Session

There will be a daily meditation session during the course of the retreat that will help you learn to sit down with yourself and give you the right space to acknowledge your emotions without judgement. Also, you will be able to learn different forms of meditation practices that will help you in practicing meditation even after the retreat has ended.

Sound Healing Session

Gurukul Yogashala will be arranging a Sound Healing Session that will help you to feel the effects of Tibetan bowls and help you to connect with yourself positively. You will be able to immerse yourself in the soothing vibrations of the Tibetan bowls that will pave the way for rejuvenation.

Ayurvedic Therapies

During the course of the retreat, there will be two different therapies that will be complimentary for you by Gurukul Yogashala. These therapies will help you relax and rejuvenate so that you can re-enter your world with a calm mindset. The therapies include the following:

Abhyanga Massage: It is an Ayurvedic full-body massage that is done with warm oil to calm the nervous system, improve lymphatic drainage, and deeply nourish the skin

Shirodhara: It is a traditional healing practice where a continuous rhythmic stream of warm medicated liquid is poured on the centre of the forehead to promote deep relaxation, relieve stress and anxiety, and improve sleep quality.

Akshitarpan & Nasya: Akshitarpan (eye nourishment) and Nasya (nasal administration) are two potent Ayurvedic therapies often used together to treat eye conditions, relieve eye strain, and clear the upper respiratory tract.

Basti: Kati Basti, Janu Basti, and Greeva Basti are localized Ayurvedic therapies (Bahya Basti) that use a dam of dough to retain warm, medicated herbal oils over specific joints or areas of the body. They relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and nourish tissues.

  • Kati Basti is for the lower back and spine
  • Janu Basti is for the knees
